When crocuses blooms, can Spring be far Behind? Crocuses growing from seed in my front grass inspired this wall quilt. Each flower is a unique display of millions of years of development, springing from the earth when temperature and moisture are perfect. Flowers are part of the cycle that ranges from bacteria to insects and eventually to us. We must nurture the diverse life on our planet to ensure that we do not loose the integrated relationships we so often take for granted.

This image was painted on white dye-ready cotton with fabric dyes. The shapes of the petals are accented with contour quilting.

Shown at the NJS in Waterloo , 2005 and the APNQ in Seattle , 2006.
