'Remembering' a loving tribute to my Mother-in-law. The last gift that she knowingly gave me, prior to slipping in to the fog of Alzheimer's, was an Ornamental Pepper plant for Christmas. I decided to paint a very enlarged portion of the plant on white cotton with fabric inks, and heavily quilted it with lustrous polyester threads. The border of worsted white wool is free-motion quilted as well.
'Remembering' was juried in to the 2008 Association of Pacific West Quilters Quiltfest in Seattle; it was awarded 2nd Place in the 'Small Quilt' category and received the Ribbon Finalist award for Best Machine Workmanship.
