I embarked on a ten-month course called “Seriously Creative” with artist and creativity coach Mary Sullivan Holdgrafer (www.exploringcreativity.com). Throughout the monthly workshops we explored personal topics that affect how we make (or don’t make)art. “Secrets” was one of those topics. We are often reluctant to tell our
innermost secrets, yet acknowledging them can release any hold they may have over us. This box became the “keeper of my secrets”. My secrets are written in the lining and interfacing of the box and it has been filled with objects that represent those secrets. Stitched tightly shut, my secrets can’t “escape”.
