Barn on Saltspring

This quilt evolved from a watercolor painting I did of a barn photographed on Saltspring Island. I often paint the image on paper and then repeat the same scene on cotton.
My needle becomes my pencil. By using free form hand quilting I am able to create texture. I like to continually experiment with new techniques. In this piece I’ve incorporated hand and machine embroidery together.
