Swirling Leaves

Swirling Leaves is a celebration of one of nature’s glorious seasons – the autumn. The intuitive process in creating this was a new learning experience for me. The pieced large leaf for the background, bars, appliquéd leaves, netting, wind ribbon bands, couched ribbons, more leaves, glue and foil, and beads, each a separate layer, comprise the creation of the quilt top. Machine work; cotton, polyester, silk, netting, satins. Wind bands inspired by Libby Lehman’s technique.
