My parents sent me feathers from an Aurora, which is a beautiful large parrot-like bird found in Brazil. The colours of the feathers are so vivid and the detail of each feather is hard to replicate. I started out designing a quilt of the entire bird, but got caught up in the feather detail and stayed there.
