Road to Buck Lake

A fall quilting retreat and subsequent sketches inspired this work. Skewing the horizon line and breaking up the background draws attention to the trunks of the trees. Hand painted fabric and rayon threads are a further attempt to capture the breathtaking change in colour of the trees at dusk.
Techniques: Machine pieced and embroidered, trapunto and machine quilting, cotton fabrics, hand-painted cotton fabrics, rayon and cotton threads.
