Arbutus and Salal
17" x 25"   © 2005

I have been quilting for 25 years and exhibiting my work for 15 years. I am enthralled with applying colour to fabric and have been heavily influenced from classes with Jan Meyers Newbury, Judith Tinkl, Joen Wolfram and Ruth McDowell.

Silk fabrics, centre fabric compost-dyed with bark from the Arbutus tree for six months, tree is stitched so as to follow the markings that resulted from the dyeing process, border and binding silks were dyed in a salal potion for four weeks
