Every autumn, I am fascinated and inspired by the explosion of color of the fall foliage. The trees appear to be putting on a fashion show with their most dramatic attire. Over the years, I have tried various methods of preserving the beauty of fall leaves, but no method completely retains the intensity and variety of the colors. With this quilt, I have used fabric to capture the essence of autumn. I created an original design of Japanese maple leaves, using artistic license to combine various colors that in nature would be found on several different varieties of Japanese Maple.
