The Bouquet was made during the time that my husband was very ill and we did not know if he would live. He did. The edges of the flowers are raw and frayed, exactly the way that I was feeling at the time. The fancy border is reminiscent of an antique frame and symbolizes the way we dress up, put our make-up on, and tell the world we are fine when inside we are falling apart.
100% cotton fabric, machine pieced and quilted with silk finish and rayon threads, raw edge appliqué, traditional and paper piecing, threadwork
