Family roots run deep, like those holding down the biggest trees. These roots keep us sturdy and grounded. Most us dearly want to maintain these roots to help us expand, grow and have that special ambiance of kinship. In a country as big as Canada, families often live their lives with many miles between members. Time takes this physical distance and creates another type of distance that overshadows our kinship. Families who live apart need a helping and nurturing spirit like the Raven to intervene. Legend has it that raven ensures the happiness of others. Raven is a life giving, creative force – the embodiment of healing.
Techniques: commercial cotton with pastels , fabric paint and embellishments. Machine and hand appliqué, machine pieced and quilted.
