‘Ogopogo Rises’ is my artistic interpretation of the Famous Canadian water monster believed to inhabit the depths of Lake Okanagan in the south central interior of British Columbia. Although the existence of Ogopogo has never been proven, sightings of this legendary serpent-like creature occur with regularity. The provincial government has declared it a protected species.
I wonder – what would it be like to have an encounter with Ogopogo?
Techniques: Machine pieced and appliquéd, thread painted, hand embellished and machine quilted.
