Although my fibre work began as traditional, it has evolved into unclassified. I combine quilting, collage, painting, embroidery, hardware, recycled materials and non fibre materials. I love colour and texture, 3D effects, a touch of humour and an element of surprise. Turning the vagaries of thread tension, fraying, puckering, and layering into positive elements gives me a special joy.
Techniques: Machine and hand appliqué, raw-edge appliqué, bobbin work, glue treated fabric, beading, burning, hand and machine embroidery. Fabrics include: sheers, net, recycled cottons and synthetics.
