People worldwide associate Canada with our cold winter season. The silence and pristine quality of a Canadian winter in a rural area is explored in this ‘fractured’ landscape. I spent my childhood growing up on a farm in central Ontario and enjoyed the sharp and frosty days. Soft falling snow accumulates in great drifts. As an adult I can think of nothing better than a crisp winter day, walking with a friend, chatting and heading for the warmth of a cozy haven for a ‘cuppa’ tea. Perhaps there would even be another friend joining us.
Techniques: machine pieced, hand appliquéd, embroidered and quilted.
