This quilt was inspired by a photo I took while visiting Burano, one of the islands of Venice. We spent a delightful day there admiring their colorful homes, shops and boats. It is traditionally a fishing village and the legend is that the houses were painted the same brilliant color as their boats so that on returning from long fishing trips, the men would recognize their homes!
