The horror of September 11th is used as a metaphor to work through a family tragedy that occurred shortly prior. A sudden freak accident violated our serene world and cast a definite shadow on our daughter’s. The TV in ICU spewed continuous anguish; the two events are inseparable in my mind. Nevertheless, hope and new life push through the shadow and we go on.
