My inspiration is always from the world around me, and in Manitoba we have many opportunities to find fossils. This piece shows the layers that make up the earth – using fabric, threads and beads to indicate the rich abundance of metals, minerals and fossils and the heat of the magma at the centre. It shows the various rock formations that thrust up from the earth’s core wherever there is a weakening of the surface.
