The Phoenix is a mythical bird who rises from the flames to be reborn. In China , it represents the power of the Empress.
My interpretation of the Phoenix Rising is the rise of Fibre Art from the foundation of our foremother’s sewing skills.
Techniques: raw edge appliqué with free motion machine quilting.
