About Katie Stein Sather

Katie Stein Sather I am fascinated by colour. Colour and colour interactions drive my design process more than any thing else. Of course, I have my favourites, and it is interesting to note how they change, and morph back to the same ones. I like to see the relationships between colours, and observe how they determine mood and image. And, I like to use unexpected colours, and saturated colours.

I have been studying the transformation of raw textile to art piece from a number of local and continentally known quilting instructors. It is an absorbing journey from utilitarian seamstress to textile artist.
