Debra McPherson

Debra’s interest in art quilting began in 2004, but her love of making art has been evolving since childhood and has led her on journeys through university and art college, painting and printmaking, photography and ceramics finally landing upon fabric and thread. She loves the processes involved in quilt making: the dreaming, the “what ifs”, the designing, creating and solving problems, searching for and auditioning fabrics, and the time-consuming processes of sewing and quilting which are necessary to achieve the final product! Her work may be improvisational, representational or completely abstract, but it is always colourful – inspired by nature and her cat. Debra is a member of CQA, and the Fabricators of the Okanagan. She joined FAN in 2021.
