Donna Stockdale
About Donna Stockdale
Donna Stockdale creates textiles, soft sculptures and wall pieces inspired by the Precambrian shield landscape near her northern Saskatchewan home.
Painting and dyeing fabrics and fibres; hand-felting wool, silk and plant fibres together to create new textiles; embellishing with stitch and leaf prints – all offer her endless possibilities for experimentation and discovery in describing nature’s colours, forms and textures.
Stockdale is always learning, taking art classes and studying with textile artists from around the world. She has shown her work in juried and other group exhibitions. She has received awards, most recently the Jane Turnbull Evans Award for Innovation in Craft for her piece, Boreal Diversity, in Saskatchewan Craft Council’s biennial touring exhibition, Dimensions 2021.
