Inspiration for my fiber art comes from nature, color, photographs, fabric, travels, and many other artists’ work. In making fiber piece I may use several techniques and variety of materials to achive the desired effect, however, the tactile quality of fabric is always predominant. As a former teacher, now I love being a student myself, and I like taking classes and learning from others. Sometimes an idea or technique will lie dormant for years only to emerge when needed. I use many different methods of fabric construction: piecing and applique, couching, stitch painting, embelishment, pencils and crayons, paint and dyes.
