My subject is the Pre-Cambrian shield, the lakes, muskegs and boreal forest of the La Ronge Ronge area. I live in an unusual area, due to the geography and the amount of undisturbed wilderness. My art is part of my relationship with nature. I hike, canoe and ski, and I sketch ideas for fabric art works. I was an acrylic painter for a few decades, so the sketching, building up of a composition and my colour sensibility comes from that practise.
