Judy Weiss is an award-winning story-teller in mixed media textiles. The subject of her work come from her passionate love for western Canadian landscape, where she grew up and lives now.  In abstracted form, she captures emotions and experiences of life on the prairies: events, the passage of time; the power of nature; and the enduring beauty of the vast but fragile landscape. Her current work focuses on the wonders of winter.

Judy loves to explore contemporary approaches and combinations of cloth, stitch, and traditional fine art materials. Her art training includes a Fine Arts Certificate with Distinction from the University of Alberta, and numerous textile workshops with regionally- and internationally-known instructors. Judy’s work has been exhibited in Canada, the US and New Zealand.
