Eruption Detail

Volcanic activity has been of interest to me since childhood. I find inspiration in the natural cycles that surround us. British Columbia is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, and is home to a large area of volcanoes and volcanic activity. In 1775, more than two thousand First Nations people lost their lives in an eruption in northern British Columbia. This was Canada’s most deadly natural disaster. Today in British Columbia many of our snowcapped mountains are inactive volcanoes, however they are considered potentially active.
