The botanical fields of Alberta fascinate me and I continue to be inspired by the bright yellow flowers of the canola fields. I keep experimenting with a variety of yellow and blue fabrics and the horizon to ensure that each design in the series is unique. On the prairies, I have observed that the fields and the blue sky create unending space.

Techniques: The design uses 93 batik fabrics that were individually cut into ¾ inch strips. Each strip is quilted to the batting and backing fabric using the ”quilt as you go” technique on a domestic sewing machine.
