The diversity of fungi is mind boggling in their variety of species. Often hidden amongst the dead leaves it is a joy to behold them when they burst forth in an array of colours and shapes. What lies beneath is just as interesting when going for a walk.

Techniques: The damask linen was plant dyed with leaves from my yard. Some of the leaves were thread painted on netting and wash-away stabilizer. The stabilizer was partially washed out to leave them crunchy. The others were painted with Tsukineko ink then stitched and cut out. The fungi are needle felted.
