Silent Sentinel Detail

Born in Vancouver, First Nation art has been around all my life. I feel it is part of my heritage. I designed my totem pole with the owl (stealthy, silent hunter), the frog (playful symbol of wealth), the bear (protector of the animal kingdom) and the salmon (sacred food source for human, animals and the forests themselves).

Techniques: Hand painted and commercial fabric, applique, embroidery, free motion stitching and confetti.
