The poem I worked with was the 'Hope Stone' by Joanna Lilley. The theme deals the loss of something/someone valued and remembered. My mom's favorite flower was a yellow rose. Surprisingly, a few days after her passing on December 3, 2008 ... a yellow rose bloomed in my courtyard! This quilt is in her memory.
Techniques: Applique: hand and machine, intensive quilting. Rose: thread painted, individual petals, assembled in 3D.
