In the fall, prevailing winds from the north flow southward across the Prairies bringing major flights of migrating birds. It is estimated that birds flying on the winds use up four times less fat reserves, thus allowing them to complete their long journey. Frank Lake is one of the spots where they rest and feed. What greets you is a cacophony of sounds and waterfowl by the thousands.
