This lovely roadside stop is somewhere on Highway 20 in central Alberta. Noticing the small pond created by a beaver dam, I stopped to take a picture. Immediately, I swarmed by mosquitoes—obviously, this was the epicentre of their breeding ground. I hightailed it to the car, and back to the studio to make this piece—without help from my winged friends.
Materials/process: Alpaca, merino and unidentified wools, cotton threads. Wet-felting, hand/needle-felted embellishments, embroidery.
