Coming on the Clouds depicts the sudden appearance and dispersal of a thunderstorm: a metaphor for how quickly life changes. Six acrylic-painted skies provide the story line. A handmade chenille background echoes areas of calm and turbulence in the storm, within a richly textured surface.
Materials/Process: Hand-painted, hand-dyed, and commercial cottons and silks; polyester, cotton and rayon threads; acrylic paints. Hand-made chenille, acrylic painting, machine stitching. Stretched, ready to hang.
