For several years I have been inspired by the concept of using Medieval Reliquaries as inspiration for dimensional fibre pieces.  This concept has been described by Janet Edmonds in her book “Beginner’s Guide to Embroidered Boxes”. Medieval reliquaries were expected to demonstrate the metal and jewelry work skills of the artisan.  They were very ornate and highly decorated.  The best general description in todays vernacular might be that “Nothing is over the top!”  Recently I decided that I might like to make one just for fun.  Thus, Frivolous Intent.
