The many varieties of sunflowers in my garden grow wild. This quilt lets me enjoy them all year round. Like the sunflowers, the background recycled vintage prints have a timeless appeal and compliment these seedy specimens. The ‘tongue-in-cheek’ title refers to both the sunflowers' unkempt natural state and the method of construction.

Techniques and materials include distortion, burned synthetics, trapunto, raw edge collage, hand and machine embroidery, beading.
