I am reminded by this photo of the joke about a man who had spent over 90 years of his life in a small New England town, having moved there as a child. His tombstone read, "He was almost one of us." As a longtime resident of a small Kentucky town, I often knew the feeling of being an outsider, from away. This is the first of a series which interprets this photo in fabric.
