About Christine Earl

Christine Earl Christine is a fibre artist living in Ladysmith, B.C. Originally from England, she spent many years in southern Ontario before settling on Vancouver Island. Upon leaving the corporate world of computer systems design 2011, Christine has returned to her original interest in visual arts, and discovered the wonders of textiles as an artistic medium. She has taken many workshops and classes exploring design, piecing, collage, chemical and plant dyeing, thread painting and thread sketching.

As a former member of the Canadian Embroiders Guild (London, Ontario) Christine’s textile art has been exhibited in annual guild shows. Since moving to Ladysmith she has been a regular contributor the Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery’s monthly shows. Her work has been juried into Threadworks and the Ladysmith Waterfront Gallery Fine Art shows.

Christine is inspired by the beauty of the natural world, the nostalgia of old photographs and the textures of the materials she works with.
