About Pat Borecky

Pat Borecky Pat has been working in the arts for most of her life as a an active member of the Manitoba Craft Council, Manitoba Prairie Quilters, Alberta Craft Council, Prince Edward County Arts Council and Guild, CQA, workshop instructor and retail storeowner.

A fabric artist with an extensive portfolio, Pats work features commissioned wall quilts for public spaces, bed quilts, wearable art and landscape collage art. Her work is featured in galleries and in private collections including: Walt Disney Productions, Great West Life Co, Riverview Municipal Hospital Winnipeg, Manitoba Museum, and The Lodge at Valley Ridge in Calgary.

Each original landscape is a fabric collage inspired by nature, a play in pattern, color texture and depth of field. Framed Landscapes as well as Canadian Heritage Cards are available.

Pat competes in juried shows and has won many awards for her work. In 2016 her landscape, A Little Oasis, won 2nd in Quilt Canada National Juried Show, and in 2018, her framed "Roots" won honorable mention in Art in the County multi-media juried show, Picton, Ontario.

Exploring new techniques and ideas to create dramatic results in her work, and striving to bridge the techniques of traditional and contemporary quilting styles are challenges that keep her creative spirit alive. She is excited to have recently relocated to Vancouver Island for inspiration to pursue new artwork and to connect with other artists and galleries.
