War, violence, and unrest are topics that appear in the news each and every day. Throughout the world it has become a constant battle to gain and maintain peace. In this art quilt the Phoenix is the Thread of Hope and a symbol of peace and freedom. It is rising from the fields of darkness, blood and ashes into the light, symbolized by the black, grey, red, orange and yellow colours.
