The adult herons, which nest mainly in trees, are caring for their young family. This wall hanging started in a workshop with Liz Faminoff who designed the pattern. She was a master quilter who took me to the level of textile/fibre artist.

Materials: Cotton, hand dyed cheese cloth, lame, branches, and feathers.

Techniques: Raw edge appliqué, free motion quilting.
