Spring Has Arrived

The crocus plant is found throughout Western Canada and is Manitobas official wildlife flower. The crocus is quite vibrant in varying shades of lavender and purple. In this piece I have also included apple blossoms as I love their fragrance and colour. What would spring be like without birds? So I have included a family of Red-breasted Nuthatches, which are found in the woodland areas of Western Canada, but also enjoy urban bird feeders.
Techniques: Thread work on the birds, and some of the ground cover was felted. All of the fabric was hand-painted.
