A Cure for Alzheimer’s Disease
$650
18"x36"
The long delay from onset to symptoms in Alzheimer’s disease makes the discovery of a cure a distant long shot. A more realistic expectation in the short run is to delay its onset, mitigate its severity. Recent results from a team of UofA researchers are promising; they found a new treatment significantly improved memory in mice with Alzheimer's disease. The researchers are now developing a drug that could eventually be used to treat human patients. Hand-dyed and commercial cotton, paint, flannel, cotton batt, cotton and monofilament thread. Hand painting and stencilling, fusible applique, machine quilting. Traveling with the 'Threads of Hope' exhibit through 2023.
