Life on DeBouville Slough

NFS

44"W X 56"H

For thirty five years I have been observing the ebb and flow of life on DeBouville Slough. The various species living along this two mile slough are being threatened by urban encroachment, specifically the runoff sediment from housing construction on the mountain above this wetland.  I chose to represent the environmental challenges by changing the blue-grey heron into fading shades of beige.
