Gay Walker

This is a Colourwash quilt, in which small prints of differing overall values and colours are placed to create grading from light to dark or from one hue to another.  The technique was developed by Deirdre Amsden in England, and I taught it for many years, helping students toward an increased awareness of the importance of value and the use of colour variations in their work. It is chain-pieced by machine and machine quilted.
