On a memorable visit to Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, I walked out onto a dock, constructed of well-worn planks and tree stumps, located at the end of Waterton Lake. A vivid green sprout caught my eye...it was new growth emerging from the cracks in one of the stumps. My photograph of that sprout became the inspiration for this textile piece and a snippet from a line by Leonard Cohen inspired its title, "There is a crack in everything..."
