Waterworks

These four vignettes explore the nature of water flow in each of the four seasons. Although the finished felt product is very dry and solid it owes its existence to sustained processing of loose fibres with water. The challenge in this piece was to maintain the impression of fluidity and the character of 'water' from its exuberant dance in spring time run-off, through summer when we most often interact with our rivers and lakes, to its depleted flow and conveyer of 'leaf oats', and finally in its winter frozen beauty.
