Underwater Odyssey

One of the summer treats for me is to go sea kayaking and camping among the many picturesque islands of British Columbia‘s Pacific Coast. Morning walks along the beach reveal the many interesting forms of sea life supported by the sea. Some are cleverly hiding among the rocks, in the seaweed., and in the shallow pools. The rich and abundant variety of shells, barnacles, oysters, clams, corals, sea onions, snails, kelp, red and purple and orange sea stars, and crabs inhabit the nooks and crannies of the sea edge. I walk absorbed in collecting shells and taking pictures, and I imagine that the light reflections from the water droplets are pearls.
