This piece was part of the FAN Exhibit, "Conversations". 

The view from our cabin at the lake has always been a special place.  The old bench is a conversation spot whether watching the lake, having a fire in the evening or with a coffee in the morning.  Recreating this scene was my challenge and my delight.  A mix of trees called for a variety of techniques; appliqué and trapunto to give the trees dimension, free standing thread stitching for the evergreen branches.  The bench was its own challenge and I’m pleased with the result.  Collaborating on an art piece was a fun challenge.
