Harness the Power

$3575

34"w x 42"h

Boaters on the West Coast of Canada have learned to respect the power of the ocean's tides. Created by the gravitational affects of the moon and the sun, these tides result in tidal forces depending on the topography of the shoreline that can be harnessed for a sustainable power source. Nakwakto Rapids, the fastest navigable tidal rapids in the world have had recorded water speeds of up to 30 km/hr. So fast that if you were to stand on the mid channel island at maximum tide you would feel the island shake, hence its name, 'Tremble Island'. Many adventurous soles have step foot on the island at slack tide to erect a sign. Those staying between tides have experienced the island's shaking. Jured into the 2024 Quilt Canada NJS.
