Jaya was inspired by an Arbutus tree that I remember from a favourite hiking trail. A lone tree, at the mercy of the sea winds and waves, it merits pause and appreciation. Jaya is Sanskrit for “victorious”. The hanging employs curved piecing and appliqué. The yarn is couched and adds texture to the piece.
