The cycle of life on the west coast depends on the oceans and the salmon who feed there. Orcas, sea lions and other marine life depend on salmon for food. They then return to the streams where bears, eagles, gulls and other wildlife feed on them and nourish the forests. This quilt was inspired by a sailing trip to the Great Bear Rainforest on BC’s north west coast. It is made of cotton fabrics that were raw edge appliqued and collaged.
